Summary/Abstract: In this article the reader makes the acquaintance of the figure and opus of the great French novelist Marcel Proust as reflected by his relationship with some remarkable friends of Romanian origin. The influence of his work to the further evolution of Romanian literature also become visible in Cornelia Ştefănescu's recently published "Destinul unei întâlniri - Marcel Proust şi Romanii".
