Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the intertextual relatedness of Woody Allen’s films with the novels of Dostoevsky and more specifically to “Crime and Punishment”. The analysis is focused on “Match Point” and “Crimes and Misdemeanors” but Allen’s oeuvre in general is also considered. The comparative observations reveal thematic structural correspondences between the films and the novels which are counterbalanced by fundamental incompatibility of their axiologies.
