Summary/Abstract: The report analyzes the classical theoretical formulations of the skaz as a kind of artistic narrative in the works of B. Eichenbaum, V. Shklovsky, Y. Tinyanov, V. Vinogradov and M. Bakhtin in Russian literary criticism in the 1920s. The methodological bases of the separate theoretical concepts and the dialogue between them are analyzed in the main texts on the poetics of the skaz of the mentioned great scholars, who paved the way for the introduction of the new term skaz in literary studies.
