Summary/Abstract: The present work proposes to analyze the place of the literary text in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, a document which represents the theoretical basis for the development of programs for the foreign languages studied in Europe. Teaching literature at school should aim at stimulating the pleasure of reading in French, at awakening and working on the child's imagination, at developing students’aesthetic and emotional sensitivity and at helping them develop themselves as individuals. Our reflections focus on what teaching literature to young readers, in Frech classes (FLE), implies today: teachers’ training, involvement and adaptation, teaching practices and resources offered by education officials.
