Summary/Abstract: Few people know that one of the prominent centers of Ukrainian studies abroad has been successfully operating in Germany for more than a hundred years, namely the Institute of Slavic Philology of the world-famous Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, one of the ten elite universities in Germany. This article discusses the old traditions and new initiatives of the Institute and its partners from Poland and the Ukraine in the study, dissemination and support of the Ukrainian language, literature, culture in Ukraine and abroad.
