Importance of competence - based and life skills - based education for the development of society

Summary/Abstract: Competence-based education is multiply important, especially in modern times when the development of society, in all its substantial segments, is more and more based on acquisition on knowledge and skills. Development and usage of competences provide opportunity to scoop not only societal but also personal potentials, which we are often not able to comprehend due to lack of crucial knowledge and skills. It was no coincidence that within EU eight key competence were identified as necessary for both personal and social development, which is the object of observation in this work.
