Summary/Abstract: The price of oil is a major uncertainty that affects every aspect of global oil demand, production capacity, investment, and the elasticity of demand and supply. This article does focus on a wide range of oil prices related issues. It attempts to analyze world oil supply and demand in addition to outlining major developments in the world market for oil prices. The potential impact of high oil prices in easy the strain on world oil market becomes even clearer when one looks at the impact of oil prices on the need for OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) conventional oil production policy and geopolitical risks.
