Fuzzy Linguistic Optimization on Multi-Attribute Machining

Fuzzy Linguistic Optimization on Multi-Attribute Machining

Author(s): Tian-Syung Lan,Chen-Feng Wu,Ming-Yung Wang,Chih-Yao Lo / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2010

Most existing multi-attribute optimization researches for the modern CNC (computer numerical control) turning industry were either accomplished within certain manufacturing circumstances, or achieved through numerous equipment operations. Therefore, a general deduction optimization scheme proposed is deemed to be necessary for the industry. In this paper, four parameters (cutting depth, feed rate, speed, tool nose runoff) with three levels (low, medium, high) are considered to optimize the multi-attribute (surface roughness, tool wear, and material removal rate) finish turning. Through FAHP (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process) with eighty intervals for each attribute, the weight of each attribute is evaluated from the paired comparison matrix constructed by the expert judgment. Additionally, twenty-seven fuzzy control rules using trapezoid membership function with respective to seventeen linguistic grades for each attribute are constructed. Considering thirty input and eighty output intervals, the defuzzifierion using center of gravity is thus completed. The TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) is moreover utilized to integrate and evaluate the multiple machining attributes for the Taguchi experiment, and thus the optimum general deduction parameters can then be received. The confirmation experiment for optimum general deduction parameters is furthermore performed on an ECOCA-3807 CNC lathe. It is shown that the attributes from the fuzzy linguistic optimization parameters are all significantly advanced comparing to those from benchmark. This paper not only proposes a general deduction optimization scheme using orthogonal array, but also contributes the satisfactory fuzzy linguistic approach for multiple CNC turning attributes with profound insight.

Le sentiment « Hungarus » et la Bibliotheca Corviniana

Author(s): István Monok / Language(s): French Issue: 1/2010

In the second half of the 15th century, the Hungarian royal court became a cultural center that enabled the functioning not only of institutions to welcome intellectual currents from outside, but also of creative workshops. These workshops were well known in Europe. During the reign (1458-1490) of King Mátyás Hunyadi (Mathias Corvinus), the Bibliotheca Corviniana, founded in the royal court of Buda, became one of the largest European libraries of the time. This library later became the most frequently cited symbol of Hungarian civilization and, from the 19th century, a solid element of Hungarian identity. We confess, willingly, that in shaping the new face of the national library, we wish to highlight the spiritual links that unite the Bibliotheca Corviniana to the Bibliotheca Regnicolaris founded by Count Ferenc Széchényi (1802).

The price of survival: Transformations in environmental conditions and subsistence systems in Hungary in the age of Ottoman occupation

Author(s): Lajos Rácz / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2010

In the modern era the population of the Carpathian Basin, for political and environmental reasons, was bound to the fundamental alterations of the prevailing subsistence system. Over the course of the 16th and the 17th centuries the country became a borderland between the Habsburg and Ottoman Empires. The regional effects of the Little Ice Age were aggravated by the ravages of the warring armies. Moreover, the climate turned cooler and wetter, and in consequence marshlands and swamps grew significantly. The population of Hungary adapted to the nearly two centuries of warfare, the environmental effects, and the European economic environment by cultivating cattle breeding and exports. Cattle exports reached 250,000 at the end of the 16th century, and the country’s economic unity survived intact in spite of the fact that Hungary itself had disintegrated politically. Following the close of the Turkish wars, Hungary became a part of the Central European Habsburg Empire.

L’accueil de la Tragédie de l’Homme d’Imre Madách par les Lecteurs de Langue Allemande (1862–1892)

Author(s): Katalin Podmaniczky / Language(s): French Issue: 1/2010

This study is devoted to the mediators - translators, philologists, publishers, writers - thanks to which was carried out the transfer of the Tragedy of the man of Imre Madách in the Germanic cultural sphere of 1862 to 1892. This period was particularly fruitful to two points of view. On the one hand, it saw the birth of seven translations, as well as a dozen reviews and reviews. Those published between 1888 and 1892 were intended to prepare the public for the upcoming appearance of Tragedy on German stages. On the other hand, many personalities for the German-speaking intelligentsia have made eulogistic statements about the Hungarian drama, while others have even recaptured this foreign masterpiece by drawing inspiration from him.

Magyar Szemle and the conservative mobilization against Völkisch ideology and German Volksgeschichte in 1930s Hungary

Author(s): Gergely Romsics / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2010

In the 1930s in Hungary, the periodical Magyar Szemle (Hungarian Review) ranked as the foremost intellectual review of conservative thinking. Edited by the pro-establishment historian Gyula Szekfû, the journal provided important intellectual ammunition to the traditionalists of the right, in other words those who for various reasons sought to hold on to István Bethlen’s version of moderate conservatism in ideology and a parliamentary system of limited pluralism and authoritarian checks in practice. The 1930s, however, bore witness to several challenges to the Horthy regime. The rise of the extreme right and the emancipatory (though often also fervently nationalist) program of the so-called népi (populist or narodniki) writers presented coherent political alternatives to the prevailing order for the first time since the marginalization and emaciation of the left in the wake of the 1918–19 revolutions. Simultaneously, the country had to grapple with the emergence of Nazi Germany as an expansionist great power in the region. In this complicated situation, authors of Magyar Szemle confronted what they perceived as a dual threat: the increasing appeal of German imperialism and German political and historical thinking. Many intellectuals of the time, feeling that the German political challenge should be resisted through the adoption and adaptation of innovative German thinking on politics and history, espoused the new ideologies emanating from the unquestioned cultural center of Central Europe in some form. Magyar Szemle, however, emerged as a hub for public intellectuals who sought to hold on to a conservatism both more traditional and more open to some of the ideas of liberalism and who refused to abandon the established view of Hungarian history for a more ethnically conscious vision of the past. In the context of the dual German challenge of the 1930s, Magyar Szemle represented a site of intellectual resistance not so much against direct German political ambitions but against the new wave of German political thought and interpretations of history.

Reading the plains and the lake: Landscape in Hungarian travel literature

Author(s): Peter Nemes / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2010

Travel writing has enjoyed continuous success since the Renaissance, and has been an important factor in shaping perceptions of individual and group identities. Especially during the second half of the eighteenth century and throughout the nineteenth century travelogues constituted an influential part of the discourse on culture, and helped, through their descriptions of the foreign and a reaffirmation of what is “us”, establish the ideology of nationalism. Works by British authors such as William Wordsworth and the travel writings of Hungarian poet Sándor Petõfi and politician, essayist, and novelist József Eötvös offer examples of different strategies of using landscape as means of affirming contours of national identity.

ПАК анализът като подход към операционалното дефиниране на корупцията

ПАК анализът като подход към операционалното дефиниране на корупцията

Author(s): Aleksandar Stoianov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The paper is based on the classical definition of corruption (V.Tanzi) and explores the approaches to the operationalization of the mechanisms, levels and forms of corruption derived based on this definition. The objective of the paper is to elaborate appropriate areas of indicators allowing for corruption measurement and analysis. More specifically, the objective is to find solutions to these problems based on a descriptive model of this phenomenon using one of the "good" alternatives in this respect is the Principal-AgentClient (PAC) analysis. Based on the theoretical analysis, the paper proposes interpretation of the content and criteria for different forms of corruption and identifies several levels of constraints to corruption behavior in public governance structures. More recent analyses of corruption assert that PAC analysis is not a good tool for analyzing the factors which inhibit or enhance corruption. As a descriptive model however, PAC analysis has its advantages as it helps delineate the mechanisms, levels and forms of corruption.

Постсоциалистически обществени траектории: демократичен и пазарен преход или завладяване на държавата?

Author(s): Andrey Nonchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The article discusses alternative trajectories of post-socialist societal transformations, with an emphasis on a specific state of society designated as "state capture". It presents a theoretical model that interprets the state capture not as an anonymous actorless process, but as a rational pursuit of specific strategies for acquisition, concentration and preservation of political and economic power and extraction of economic benefits/ rents. The implementation of these strategies involves the formation and operation of the politico-economic power networks that seek to control key public legislative, executive and judiciary institutions. These processes have a systematic nature and significant political, economic and social consequences.

Пазарът – между собствения интерес на пазарния актьор и обществения интерес

Author(s): Viara Stoilova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The article focuses on the relationship between the actor’s own interest and the public interest in the functioning of the market. The methodological approach to analyzing this relationship is based on the metaphor of "invisible hand". The aim of the article is to justify the diminishing cooperative role of the "invisible hand" for the realization of the public interest. On the basis of the theoretical-analytical approach, the concepts of "own interest" and "public interest" are defined and the distinction between "own interest" and "selfish interest" is justified.

Новите ипостаси на „философската бригада“ на Тодор Павлов

Author(s): Georgi Najdenov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The study of Ivaylo Znepolski for the activity of the Todor Pavlov’s "philosophical brigade" in Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and in the Philosophical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the 1960s and 1970s is presented. It is shown why, after losing its positions in the 1970s, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Todor Pavlov‘s "philosophical brigade" strengthened with a new generation and restored its active activity in the Philosophical Faculty. One particular situation is investigated – the ideological censure practiced by Todor Pavlov‘s "philosophical brigade" during the Jubilee Conference of Department of Sociology in 2017.

Отнемане на активи от трафик на хора

Author(s): Georgi Petrunov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

Human trafficking is a global problem generating huge illicit incomes. Based on the notion that the opportunities for fast and large profits are the main drive for committing crimes, in this article we focus on the asset forfeiture from trafficking of human beings as an efficient tool to fight this criminal business. Using secondary analysis of documents and statistical data we come to the conclusion that the application of this instrument is still very limited in the practice of the Bulgarian law-enforcement institutions. The insufficient institutional application in turn deprives the state of key weapon in the arsenal, aimed to effectively combat crime.

Дигиталната социология като нова практика и стандарт в обучението по социология

Дигиталната социология като нова практика и стандарт в обучението по социология

Author(s): Marieta Hristova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The study is dedicated to the development of digital sociology as a part of sociological science. The main tasks of this study are: to track the development of digital sociology as part of sociological science; to trace what academic disciplines are taught in sociology programmes related to internet, digital world, social media, online research methods and others at universities around the world; in which universities digital sociology is taught; to justify the necessity of introducing digital sociology as a discipline in sociology education in Bulgarian universities. I express the view that such discipline is necessary because it will react directly to the changing social world, now characterized by "big data" and digital transformation of different kind. The digital world should became a key feature of sociological research and analysis considering the ways in which digital technologies have penetrated our everyday life and become so important to how people gather information and socially connect with others.

Съвременен прочит на идеите на Макс Вебер за взаимодействието между културните фактори и икономическия растеж

Съвременен прочит на идеите на Макс Вебер за взаимодействието между културните фактори и икономическия растеж

Author(s): Christian Tanushev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

In globalized world, the impact of cultural differences on economic activity is becoming more and more pronounced. The subject of the study is the modern reading of Max Weber’s views on the impact of cultural factors on economic growth. The main thesis is that, both historically and in modern times, economic relations are closely intertwined with social factors and they influence each other. The research is focused on the impact of the cultural environment on: building personal qualities that directly influence the economic results, the formation of social knowledge and skills in individuals, the criteria for optimization and the distribution of goods and their application in modeling in the "game theory". Human well-being is the criterion for assessing the development of the economic system and indicators for improving the quality of life should reflect social processes.

Author(s): Kalina Ishpekova-Bratanova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

This paper aims to identify the aspects of Britishness that largely determine the typical of Great Britain Еuroscepticism. The identity of the world power is connected with the ideas of freedom and democracy, free trade, tolerance and commitment, as well as with the norms of sovereignty and good governance. These are a major factor for the unprecedented Brexit. On this basis, a theoretical model for the analysis of identity as a factor of the contemporary system of international relations has been constructed.
