The aim of this article is to discuss certain ideas from Witold Płotka‘s book Studia z fenomenologii poznania. Transcendentalna filozofia Edmunda Husserla a problem wiedzy (Studies in the Phenomenology of Cognition. The transcendental Philosophy of Edmund Husserl and the Problem of Knowledge). In particular, the article examines the issue of the place and significance of language considerations in the context of Husserl‘s phenomenology. The author considers whether language is a transparent medium, and whether it is a constitutive element of the content and character of the experience.

This article discusses certain aspects of Michał Piekarski’s analysis of Witold Płotka’s book Studies in the Phenomenology of Cognition. The transcendental Philosophy of Edmund Husserl and the Problem of Knowledge. It considers the relationship between the phenomenological method and the analytical approach broadly understood. It also examines the similarities and differences between the two approaches. Lastly, the author reconstructs Husserl’s view of language, especially in the context of the analysis of the noema.

The author has explored the relevance, theoretical substantiation, methodological and practical significance of the textbook «Economic Policy of the State», prepared by the team of authors of the Kiev National Trade and Economic University. The author has analyzed its content and structure, logic, scientific and methodological foundations of the presentation of educational material. It is determined the role of the textbook in the formation of students and citizens of Ukraine of economic thinking and scientific approaches to solving socio-economic problems in the formation of an information-network economic system. The author has reasoned the high assessment of the textbook and recommendations for its use by higher educational institutions in the educational process.

Postmodernism is marked by information, an increasing competition and radical changes in the education sector. Moral and spiritual progress fails to keep pace with scientific and technological progress. That is evident in educational practices, thus, new challenges arise because of a lack of attention to personality. Modernity, characterised by objectivity and rationality, has been challenged by post modernity which seeks to reconstruct existing forms of thinking and promotes a new worldview. The author discusses modern educational practices in the context of postmodernism. She analyses some aspects of postmodernism, its marks in contemporary education. Drawing on the proponents and opponents of postmodernism, the author states that postmodernism influences changes in the content, methods of teaching as well as in teachers’ approaches to teaching. Nowadays much attention in education is given to self-expression, interpretation, a pluralistic worldview, consumerist values. The conclusion has been drawn that changes in education should be seen as a natural process that affects personality development, cognitive development, self-realization.

This review article discusses an edition of documents concerning the attitude of the interwar Polish Socialist Party (PPS) to the communist movement. The reviewed work is an ambitious undertaking, but it has many weaknesses resulting from, among other things, the method of selecting documents or the perspective adopted in the introduction. Therefore, it can be considered at best as an introduction to further research on this issue, and not a comprehensive and multidimensional picture of relations between the PPS and the Communist Workers’ Party of Poland (KPRP)/Communist Party of Poland (KPP).

The author critically analyses Krzysztof Rak’s book Poland. Hitler’s Unfulfilled Ally (2019). The monograph attempts a new look at Polish-German relations between 1933 and 1939. However, it contains simplifications and unauthorised interpretations. The author uncritically accepts the German efforts for an anti-Soviet alliance with Poland as reality. He unjustifiably suggests that the Polish and German governments agreed on a joint modus operandi against Czechoslovakia in 1938.

Bruno Kamiński’s book analyses the efforts made by propaganda in post-war Poland (until 1956) to fuel, control, and channel fear. At the same time, it is a book on the history of emotions, showing how a specific feeling appeared and was shaped in a specific socio-political context. The small number of studies addressing this topic concerning Polish history makes the study worth discussing in detail and reflecting on the general state of research in the sub-discipline.
