2017 m. lapkričio 30 d.–gruodžio 1 d. Nacionalinėje dailės galerijoje (NDG), Vilniuje, vyko tarptautinė konferencija „Revoliucinė vaizduotė: vizualioji kultūra politinių audrų amžiuje“. Ją organizavo Europos humanitarinis universitetas ir Vilniaus universiteto Tarptautinių santykių ir politikos mokslų institutas, bendradarbiaudami su Europos vizualiosios kultūros tinklu, NDG ir Goethe’s institutu Lietuvoje. Vieta pasirinkta ne atsitiktinai – 1980-aisiais baigtas vėlyvojo modernizmo pastatas iki Lietuvos nepriklausomybės funkcionavo kaip Revoliucijos muziejus, o 1993 m., išvalius senąjį turinį, tapo Lietuvos dailės muziejaus padaliniu NDG. Tarp miestiečių vis dar sklando versija, jog į tris dalis išskaidyti pagrindinio pastato tūriai turėję didingai priminti plevėsuojančią tarybinę vėliavą, tačiau retas žino ar prisimena, jog tokia simbolika tuometinei valdžiai buvo pasiūlyta siekiant pagrįsti modernistinę architektūrinę raišką.

The debate on the future of the European defence was held on the 16th of October 2018 in the Community Hall of the Economic University in Bratislava. The event was jointly organised by Slovak civil association Esprit de Défense in partnership with the French Embassy in the Slovak Republic, Institut français de Slovaquie and Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in Bratislava and attended by diplomats, expert public and a large number of students mainly from the University of Matej Bel in Banská Bystrica.

The 23rd Annual Conference of Central European Political Science Association “One Hundred Years After: 1918-2018” took place in September 2018 at the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Matej Bel University in the beautiful city of Banská Bystrica, Slovak Republic. The conference gathered together around 120 researchers from different institutions from Central and Eastern Europe and from Western universities and institutions as well. It provided the platform to share and discuss theirs research topics and findings, ranging from history, civil society, citizens and States; corruption, populism and current threats to the Liberal democracy; party politics; coalitions and governments; Euroscepticism and attitudes towards European Union, Central European Cooperation within Visegrad Group, EU common defense policy, relationship between Central European Countries and Russia, and others. A special panel was focused on the political system and issues in Lithuania.

Nye in his book "Bound to lead", is used to generally designate the power of influence and persuasion over an entity, for example, a State over another actor, like another State. An influence that is done by non-coercive means, without any constraints.
