The text summarizes the conference “The Never-Ending Michael Ende - profile, signature, fantasy strategies”, which took place on 8 November 2019 in Kraków. The author describes the organizers’ objectives, among which the main aim was to remind attendees of the profile and work of Michael Ende - a remarkable fantasy writer who is nowadays somewhat forgotten in Poland. The paper focuses in particular on the course of the conference, briefly summing up all the presentations and emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the meeting. Based on the critical studies and further source literature, the author indicates some potential ways in which the reception of Ende’s work could develop.

Information architecture (AI) belongs to a group of new disciplines related to information science. As an academic discipline, AI emerged at the turn of the 20th/21st century and deals with the issues of designing and organizing information in various forms, taking into account the needs of its recipients. Close connections with information science and bibliology allow AI to be considered a related discipline, created, among others, by in the process of their evolution. It is therefore not surprising that academic centers that have been educating librarians and information specialists have become interested in information architecture, seeing it as an attractive field of study and research. The first Polish academic center where this field was launched was the Institute of Scientific Information and Library Science (currently the Institute of Information Sciences) of the Pedagogical University of Krakow - studies in information architecture were launched in 2013. After three years, the decision to open a field of the same name was made in the former institutes of scientific information and library science at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. In the 2018/2019 academic year, the Institute of Library and Information Science of the University of Silesia also joined the group of centers educating in the field of AI. These initiatives created a need for discussion and exchange of experiences regarding the current state and future of this discipline in Poland.

W dniach 17–18 września 2018 roku odbył się LXXVI Zjazd Polskiego Towarzystwa Językoznawczego, głównym organizatorem Zjazdu była prof. Katarzyna Wojan z Instytutu Skandynawistyki Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego. Obrady odbywały się w budynku neofilologii na Wydziale Filologicznym. Prof. Katarzyna Wojan powitała gości i uczestników Zjazdu. Zjazd otworzył wiceprezydent Gdańska Piotr Kowalczyk, następnie zabrali głos prorektor UG prof. Krzysztof Bielawski oraz dziekan Wydziału Filologicznego prof. Maciej Michalski. Przewodniczący Zarządu – prof. Piotr Stalmaszczyk podziękował władzom uczelni oraz dziekanowi Wydziału Filologicznego za pomoc w organizacji Zjazdu i udzielone wsparcie finansowe, bez którego Zjazd nie mógłby się odbyć.

XVIII Ogólnopolski Zjazd Socjologiczny, który we wrześniu 2022 roku pracował w Warszawie, był dobrą okazją do przedstawienia całościowych obrazów społeczeństwa oraz wyników badań z wielu dziedzin szczegółowych, w tym takich, które dopiero się wyłaniają. Dawał też sposobność do refleksji nad naszą dyscypliną i profesją — zawodem i powołaniem.

Dziesiąte sympozjum z cyklu „Intercontinental Dialogue on Phraseology” podejmujące temat The World of Plants in Phraseology and Paremiology odbyło się 20 listopada 2021 r. na platformie Blackboard. Było to międzynarodowe spotkanie zorganizowane przez Uniwersytet w Białymstoku (Wydział Filologiczny Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku, Międzynarodowy Ośrodek Badań Frazeologicznych i Paremiologicznych) oraz Uniwersytet w Zagrzebiu (Wydział Humanistyki i Nauk Społecznych, Komitet Chorwackiej i Komparatywnej Frazeologii, Chorwackie Stowarzyszenie Filologiczne). Uczestniczyło w nim ponad trzydziestu badaczy stałych połączeń wyrazowych z różnych krajów: Chin, Chorwacji, Hiszpanii, Macedonii, Polski, Republiki Południowej Afryki, Rosji, Serbii, Słowacji, Słowenii, Ukrainy. Wśród referatów dominowały prezentacje wyników badań nad frazeologizmami i przysłowiami z komponentem fitonimicznym.
