The article examines briefly the role of “Epohi” journal as an ideological and organizational pillarof the Faculty of History’s scholarly life from the journal’s foundation in 1993 up to now. As proof of the right direction of the journal’s editorial policy, it has been recognized over the last few years both among the general reading public – the materials from different issues of “Epohi” have been downloaded over 75 000 times from its electronic archive, and by its joining for reference and indexing in several authoritative international networks such as ERIH Plus,CEEOL and Google Scholar.

The Epohi journal plays an important role in the recognition of the Faculty of History of St. Cyril and St.Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo as a respected and prestigious scientific centre of historical research. It started 25 years ago and from the very beginning its editorial board aimed to encourage the historical investigation rather than superfluous description of facts as well as to attract Bulgarian and foreign authors and research departments.
