Dragi čitatelji, pred vama se nalazi 47. broj časopisa Prilozi. Ovaj broj jedan je od rijetkih u kojem se funkcija direktora Instituta za historiju i glavnog i odgovornog urednika nije spojila. To ni u kom slučaju ne znači da je došlo do promjene koncepta unutar samog časopisa. Želim istaći da je uredništvo broja 47. imenovano tek krajem maja, i da je dobilo izuzetno odgovoran zadatak publiciranja časopisa u mnogo kraćem roku od uobičajenog.

U prvom broju »Priloga« dat je kratak pregled rađa Instituta za istoriju radničkog pokreta u Sarajevu od njegovog osnivanja do 1965, godine. Zato se ovdje nećemo zadržavati na tome periodu nego ćemo ukratko prikazati rad Instituta i promjene koje su uslijedile u njegovoj organizaciji od 1965. godine do danas.

Ovom svečanom sjednicom Savjeta Instituta za istoriju radničkog pokreta uz učešće radnog kolektiva i uglednih saradnika Instituta, eminentnih predstavnika naučnog, kulturnog i političkog života, obilježavamo desetogodišnjicu rada našeg Instituta. To je prilika da jezikom relevantnih podataka i činjenica prikažemo razvoj ove naučne ustanove, kojoj je naša društvena zajednica, na inicijativu CK SK BiH, prije jedne decenije, povjerila zadatak da pristupi naučnoj istorijskoj analizi i obradi radničkog pokreta, narodnooslobodilačkog rata i revolucije u Bosni i Hercegovini.

Osnovan prije šest godina, Institut za proučavanje istorije radničkog pokreta razvio se u naučno-stručni kolektiv koji je sada u mogućnosti da pred našu javnost izađe sa publikacijom u kojoj će, u početku povremeno, a zatim periodično objavljivati naučne i stručne radove svojih saradnika. Razumije se da će sadržaj, profil i nivo publikacije biti određeni prije svega naučno-istraživačkim programom Instituta, tačnije njegovom realizacijom.

Proučavanju istorije radničkog pokreta, Komunističke partije Jugoslavije i socijalističke revolucije donedavno je u Bosni i Hercegovini poklanjano malo- pažnje. Uzroci tome leže, pored ostalog, i u nedostatku naučnih institucija i kadrova koji bi se bavili ovom problematikom. Osnivanjem Istorijskog odjeljenja CK SK ВШ 1949. godine pristupilo se osnovnim, početnim poslovima ne prikupljanju i sređivanju grade, da bi se tek 1959. godine, formiranjem Instituta za proučavanje istorije radničkog pokreta, prešlo na organizovanje naučnog rada u ovoj oblasti.

Povodom 25-te godišnjice I zasjedanja ZAVNOBiH-a, u Sarajevu je od 18, do 20. novembra održan naučni skup »Istorijske pretpostavke republike Bosne i Hercegovine«. Pored Instituta za istoriju radničkog pokreta, u organi- zovanju ovog naučnog skupa učestvovali su: Akademija nauka i umjetnosti Bosne i Hercegovine, Društvo istoričara Bosne i Hercegovine, Katedra za istoriju Filozofskog fakulteta, Katedra državnog i međunarodnog prava Pravnog fakulteta, Katedra za političke nauke Fakulteta političkih nauka, Skupština SR BiH i CK SK ВIH.
