Umjetničko djelo budućnosti [1849.]

Author(s): Richard Wagner / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 29/2024

Author(s): Shaban Sinani / Language(s): English Issue: 02/2023

The least known in Jakov Xoxa’s intellectual and creative activity is its research part. Written during a decade and a half in the form of school texts, lectures and university publications, it was incorporated neither in the publication of his complete work in Pristina (eight volumes, 1971) nor in Tirana (six volumes, 1983).

Hram naroda Hrvatski dom 1913-2024. (110 godina HD – u Tuzli)

Author(s): Marica Petrović / Language(s): Bosnian,Croatian,Serbian Issue: 20/2024

Book Forum on Hans Kundnani's Eurowhiteness: Culture, Empire and Race in the European Project

Book Forum on Hans Kundnani's Eurowhiteness: Culture, Empire and Race in the European Project

Author(s): Stefan Auer,Pavel Barša,Ágnes Gagyi,HANS KUNDNANI / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2024

This book forum discusses Hans Kundnani’s pivotal book on “Eurowhiteness” and the role of race in the EU integration project. It includes three reactions from Stefan Auer, Pavel Barša, and Agnes Gagyi, along with Kundnani’s response. Eurowhiteness skillfully reveals what has been obscured by the European Union as a vehicle of “imperial amnesia”. The three reactions and the author’s response continue a polemical discussion on this imperial amnesia, as viewed through different intellectual traditions and regions, including Central and Eastern Europe and anti-colonial perspectives. As a result, the forum uses the book to either deepen the debate on the EU’s civilizationism with new perspectives or expand the Eurowhiteness narrative with new geo-historical contexts and connections. Issues of Russian imperialism in Ukraine, the Israeli war in Gaza, and the economic dimensions of European coloniality are brought to the foreground, particularly when viewed through the imagination and reality of Central (and Eastern) Europe.

Otac, majka, kuća i materidža ili šta će u proljeće bez nas osjećati naše duše

Author(s): Kemal Musić / Language(s): Montenegrine Issue: 95-96/2024

Poznavao sam Aliju Džogovića. Pjesnika. Dobrog pjesnika. Sretali smo se u Novom Pazaru. Pričao mi je o Izetu Sarajliću. O Izetovom bluzu. O tome, kako bi bilo dobro znati kuda će poslije nas naše duše. Pričao mi je o tome kako je Materidža njegova, Alijina, inspiracija. Kako je po kamenu Materidže ispisivao znakove. Linije i crte svjetlosti u tami, njenu bijelu put i njen mir u tišini kamena.

Author(s): Ulvija Mušović / Language(s): Montenegrine Issue: 95-96/2024

K anamnéze významového utvárania a možných súvislostí básne J. Ondruša Strom

„Obraz stratí pamäť“. K anamnéze významového utvárania a možných súvislostí básne J. Ondruša Strom

Author(s): Fedor Matejov / Language(s): Slovak Issue: 45/2024

Fedor Matejov's analysis of Ján Ondruš's poem "Strom" delves into the symbolic interplay between the physical and the metaphorical, focusing on themes of injury, personification, and the human condition. Matejov explores the poem's depiction of a stigmatized tree, drawing parallels between the tree's physical wounds and human suffering. The poem's imagery, including the "scarred" tree and the "cooling" of its severed parts, evokes a sense of shared vulnerability and resilience. Matejov highlights Ondruš's use of archaic language and motifs, such as the "cutting" and "cooling" of the tree, to convey deeper existential themes. The analysis also touches on the poem's structural elements, including its repetitive and cyclical nature, which mirror the ongoing process of healing and memory. Matejov's interpretation underscores the poem's rich layers of meaning, inviting readers to reflect on the interconnectedness of nature and humanity. The essay concludes by situating Ondruš's work within the broader context of Slovak literature, emphasizing its enduring relevance and impact.

Author(s): Iordan Datcu / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 24/2024

The seriousness with which she addresses topics in the magazine pages does not differ from that in her essays included in the volume "On Ethnological Interpretation" (Etnologică Publishing House, 2020). These observations lead me to say that Ioana-Ruxandra Fruntelată is a notable name in Romanian ethnology.

Nopţi de Înviere

Author(s): Dan Ciachir / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 05/2024

The article evokes the Easter nights experienced in Bucharest in the 1960s. Towards the end of the 1960s, rightly considered as a time of liberalization, Greek faithful would come to celebrate Easter and cars with Athens or Thessaloniki license plates could be seen near some churches in Bucharest. Other guests of the Easter services in Bucharest were the Lebanese. The Easter holidays offered reasons for great joy, despite the difficult times under communism.

O Srcu Zemlje Glorije Lujanović

O Srcu Zemlje Glorije Lujanović

Author(s): Ivan Dugandžić / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 119-120/2024

Ona nas osvješćuje onoga u čem i jučer i danas jesmo.

Protipopravčí četa Petra Rittera

Protipopravčí četa Petra Rittera

Author(s): František Všetička / Language(s): Czech Issue: 1/2024

Petr Ritter, a lawyer by profession, is a notable figure in the literary generation of the 1980s, debuting with the novella "Advokát ex offo" in 1986. His novel "Protipopravčí četa," published in 1992, critically examines the legitimacy of the death penalty, reflecting on the societal and legal complexities surrounding it. The novel, structured around a one-week calendar cycle, begins and ends on a Friday, with each chapter named after a day of the week. The story revolves around Biesinger, who is on trial for murder, and the judges' introspective and intuitive scenes that explore the case's nuances. The narrative includes a mysterious bookmark motif linked to the presiding judge, Gartner, which symbolizes deeper moral and ethical questions. Ritter's work is characterized by its blend of intuitive scenes, mysterious motifs, and a strong contemplative component, making it a significant contribution to the discourse on capital punishment during a pivotal time in Czech history.

Author(s): Constantin Cubleşan / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 09/2024

The article presents Samuil Vulcan, Greek-Catholic bishop of Oradea, based on a recent volume of his writings, edited by Mircea Popa. His theological work, comprising pastorals letters and sermons addressed to simple people, the Romanians of his diocese, is a deeply religious one, in the spirit of the teaching books of other great Christian pastors before him, from the country’s olden days, but no less a continuous plea for the moral education of the people. Bishop Samuil Vulcan is one of the illustrious figures of Romanian scholars that Transylvania gave to our national culture.

Anamneza interiorităţii în poezia lui Valeriu Anania

Author(s): Cristina Nechintean / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 09/2024

Valeriu Anania organizes his entire work around the concept of anamnesis, with the meaning of not forgetting. Archaic, mythical, Christian or hieros, mythos and logos are interfaces and interstices in a texture where memory is a matrix continuum. Memory is “a kind of sign” between the paradisiacal beginnings and the present. The privileged time of creation is tangent to eternity. Looking for eternity is equivalent to looking for the Hidden, not outside, rising you up, but inside, by descending into the most difficult hell to bear – one’s own interiority. In this sense, Valeriu Anania immerses himself voluptuously in the labyrinth of the Arghesian “troubled” self. The poetic act is invested with the power to stop time.

Několik poznámek režiséra k Shakespearově Bouři podle Fibicha a Vrchlického a k inscenaci této opery v Národním divadle moravskoslezském (premiéry 1. a 3. 12. 2016 v Divadle Antonína Dvořáka v Ostravě)

Author(s): Jiří Nekvasil / Language(s): Czech Issue: 1/2021

Tuto rozhlasovou nahrávku pod taktovkou Jaroslava Vogela, vydala Společnost Beno Blachuta v koprodukci s Radioservisem. V hlavních rolích zde účinkují Zdeněk Otava, Ludmila Červinková, Beno Blachut, Maria Tauberová a Vladimír Jedenáctík.
