Ioannoupolis et Dorostolon (Ἰωαννουπόλεως καὶ Δοροστόλου), 2. Theodoroupolis (Θεοδωρούπολις), 3. la Mésopotamie Occidentale ou de l’ Ouest (Μεσοποταμίας τῆς Δύσεως), 4. Dristra (Δρίστρας) et/ou Dorostolon (Δορόστολον/Δοροστόλῳν), 5. les villes d’Istros ou dans la formule étendue les villes et les terres d’Istros, 6. les villes paristriennes (παρίστριοι πόλεις), 7. Paristrion (Παριστρίων/Παρίστριον), 8. Paradounavon (Παραδουνάβων). Pour le XIIe siècle, on constate que plusieures sources littéraires emploient, pour désigner les régions du Danube, les noms des villes paristriennes et Paristrion, identiques avec deux employées par des sources littéraires pour indiquer l’unité militaire-admnistrative danubienne au XIe siècle.
