Погребения с оружием на могильнике римского времени Заостровье-2 в Северной Самбии
The authors publish burials of the Roman period (1st—2nd centuries AD) with weapons, equestrian and horse equipment, which were investigated in 2011 at the burial ground Zaostrovie-2/Schlakalken-II/IV, in Northern Sambia (Sambian-Natangian culture). An attempt was made to establish a hierarchy of “warrior” burials of the Sambian-Natangian culture of the Roman period by the presence of weapons, spurs, and horse equipment in them. The burials with weapons found at the cemetery Zaostrovie-2/Schlakalken-II/IV are common for the Sambian-Natangian culture of the Roman period and fit well into the hierarchy of burials with weapons. The question of social interpretation of these levels was not raised, since their examining requires a wide and diverse involvement of materials from the Sambian-Natangian burial sites, including anthropological data (age, living conditions, nature of death of the buried).
