To naprawdę on!

We wrześniu 1989 r. ministrowie właśnie utworzonego rządu Tadeusza Mazowieckiego otrzymali raport zatytułowany Stan państwa. Liczący blisko 100 stron, odbity na powielaczu dokument został przygotowany w Centralnym Urzędzie Planowania we współpracy z Głównym Urzędem Statystycznym, Urzędem Rady Ministrów, Ministerstwem Finansów, Narodowym Bankiem Polskim, MON, MSZ, MSW, Ministerstwem Ochrony Środowiska i Urzędem do spraw Wyznań. W siedmiu rozdziałach zawarto podstawową wiedzę o społeczeństwie i stanie gospodarki kraju w sierpniu 1989 roku 1.

Przyjmujemy je wtedy bez zastrzeżeń i przechodzimy do innych zajęć.

— No, naprzód! Spróbuj jeszcze raz. Dokładnie tutaj. Mięciutko. Czujesz, jakie wytwarzają wibracje? To twoja energia. Jest otępiała, właśnie się budzi. Młody szeregowiec wojsk pogranicznych Federacji Rosyjskiej Alieksiej Zarubin zanurza posłusznie ręce w niebieskobiałym śniegu. Brodaty kapitan kiwa głową, mruczy z zadowoleniem jak niedźwiedź. Pyta: — Rozumiesz już? Możesz leczyć swoimi rękami innych żołnierzy. Trzy razy dziennie ładujesz dłonie w śnieg i już. Byłem w Tybecie i tamtejsi mnisi tak trenują. Dzięki tej metodzie uleczysz dowolną chorobę, dowolną kontuzję. To bardzo proste. Ludzie po prostu o tym nie wiedzą. W człowieku jest zgromadzona taka energia...

During the time of sudden and unforeseen changes, a company may not assume a single strategy and indefinitely continue to pursue its objectives. The phenomenon of globalisation transforms the company environment, the company employees and the company itself. A question which must be asked is whether the individuals managing companies are aware that when they are making strategic decisions they are always following a certain perspective of strategy description. For that purpose, the author of this paper presents various approaches to strategy management – ranging from traditional to contemporary. Nonetheless, the overriding objective of this paper is the presentation of the author’s own method of identifying approaches to strategy in management or more broadly, in strategic management. The nature of the method is the allocation of points/scores to features which characterise a given company, and the subsequent assessment of these features by that company. Both values constitute a weighted value which in percentage terms depicts the approach structure to a strategy within the analysed entity. The research conducted (presented in the paper), despite the relatively limited number of subjects analysed, suggests to a certain extent that the method proposed may be used as a tool to classify a given entity in relation to the individual approaches to strategy.

The article presents the result of an empirical study that compares the formal structure of a company with its less formal counterpart: the network of cooperation, flow of information, knowledge and decision between employees. An empirical study surveys 374 employees from two companies about their position in formal structure and their connections with other employees. The conducted analysis examines the relationship between company structural characteristics and performance, as one of studied company performs less effective than other. The paper examines such issues as: the level of convergence of both structures, the degree of compliance of formal and informal authority and the allocation of network resources. In a company characterized by higher performance we observed higher level of convergence of both structures, higher degree of compliance of the position of the employee with the level of their informal authority, and higher level of support provided by the managers. Results suggest that the comparison of formal and informal structure of the company provides information about its performance that is difficult to obtain in any other way. Finally, presented managerial implications refer to the specific ways how to improve the organizational structure on the basis of information obtained by analyzing the organizational network.

Human resources constitute one of the key aspects of negotiation processes in a company. Appropriate and high competences of employees performing those processes determine their effectiveness. In the literature on negotiations the lack of methodological concepts of evaluating such competences may be observed. Therefore the objective of the paper is to describe such a concept, elaborated by the author and based on universal evaluation framework. The considered competences were described by including the evaluation criteria within two dimensions: general one, reflecting negotiation potential as well as situational one, considering the features of particular negotiations. The third dimension was also added, reflecting the way of displaying those competences and facilitating the measurement of general competences. The case study on the application of presented concept within contract negotiations in computer sector was included as well.

During the radical rightist demonstrations in the mid 2000s – besides the basic confl icts – the violent actions of the protesters and their confl ict with the law enforcement gained much attention. The reason of that was the violence of the protests and of the policing of the demonstrations, which was without any precedence in Hungary after the democratic transition. The authorities also tried to hinder the protest events and the function of the semi-legal radical rightist social movement organizations with administrative means. The radical rightist protest organizations introduced such protest and organizational forms, which the authorities could not deal with. These forms were spontaneous protest, protest camp and non-registered social movement organizations. In this paper I argue that the introduction of these innovative forms was possible due to the break down of the public-order partnership and the application of internet-based technologies.
