THE ORIGINAL COPY FOR DIGITZATION HAS BEEN PRINTED IN GERMAN FRAKTURA FONT. PLEASE EDIT THE TABLE OF CONTENT FILE TO MAKE SURE, THAT YOU’LL BE ABLE TO READ THE TEXT. // The reason for this work was given to me by Adolf Harnack's study published last year under the title "The spirit of the oriental church in contrast to the occidental one". ... Who should answer Harnack's questions on behalf of the Christian East? ... The intelligentsia of the Christian East, which creates its general culture, must give an account of what it is owing for its cultural work to its own religious history and how the spirit and yield of this work, which for the West is primarily embodied in Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy, should be related to the values of the Occident: whether Orient and Occident are hostile to each other, or whether both form a higher, basically identical unit. Introduction to the History of the Slavs

Einführung in die Geschichte der Slaven

Author(s): Eduard Bogusławski / Language(s): German

This text is the translation of Boguslawsji‘s «History of the Slavs» (Volume II, Krakow 1899), which was revised and expanded by the author and supplemented with scientific material from around 1902. In terms of its content, this work complements Boguslawski's work “Method and Aids for Researching the Prehistoric Period in the Slavic Past,” which I translated earlier and published in Berlin in 1902. Its content is mainly formed by the characteristics of two schools of scholars who appear in the science dealing with the history of the Slavs, namely the autochthonist and the anti-autochthonist, or Berlin-Austrian school, and the mutual relationship between them, whereby the author has set itself the task of providing evidence that the whole teaching of the second of these schools is erroneous. (translated from the Polish by Waldemar Osterloff.)

risis and Reconstruction in Eastern Europe. A world-historical picture

Krisis undf Aufbau in Osteuropa. Ein weltgeschichtliches Bild

Author(s): Albert Brackmann / Language(s): German

Published by the «Ahnenerbe-Stiftung» («Foundation for Ancestral Heritage») 1939 in Berlin. As the name of the publishing foundation and the year of publication already indicate, in this essay the author expresses a clearly National-Socialist view of Central and Eastern Europe. Already in the first sentence he describes Nazi Germany‘s attack on Poland as a “necessary” reaction to the “deception of the Poles”, to the “political guilt of England” and to the “Dictate of Versailles”. And as the self-image of the NAZIs pretended (see title), their views to any part of the world had always a „world-historical“ dimension.
