Bulgarian Musicology is the only academic journal in Bulgaria which covers a variety of topics in the field of musical culture. It started as a series of "Musicology" in 1977, and in 1981 took a regular journal format with four issues published annually. All submitted materials are a matter of peer review made by Bulgarian and foreign specialists. The journal includes articles which explore various phenomena, processes, documents and artifacts, associated with different spheres of the Bulgarian and world musical culture, approached by advanced research methods. Particular issues of the journal are devoted to significant historical and contemporary topics. Bulgarian Musicology welcomes materials by both established and younger musicologists from Bulgaria and abroad. One of the regular journal rubrics, entitled “Debuts”, provides a special space for the publishing of studies by young scholars. Editorial Board: Prof. D.Sc. Scientific Forum attracts increasing attention of scientists from home and abroad. This year, after a preliminary selection of papers will include 106 researchers and PhD students from Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Macedonia, Poland, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Serbia and France. Conference participants are representatives of about 25 universities, institutes and institutions. Panels grouped reports based on thematic issues and their vicinity. This includes the topics of "Ancient Art" in "Folk culture and musical art" and "Christian Art" to "Entertainment and media in the first half of the twentieth century", "Art and Socialism" and "Art and Modernity." Other researchers have developed reports that are united in "theoretical discourse", "Ideas, concepts, terms," "Reception, interpretations and taboos" and "Art and Identity". The third round includes specific areas as "Arts and Culture in the Balkans", "Media audiences communications", "Sound, vision, concept art", "Art, photography, spaces" and "Creator and art."

Art Studies Quarterly is a periodical of the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It is the only Bulgarian academic journal in the field of visual arts, theater and film studies. Its first issue was published in May 1968 and already 45 years shows the research guidelines on artistic practices in Bulgaria. Policy of the journal is to present different perspectives, to provide a platform for a wide range of both Bulgarian and foreign authors, of young and established scholars, in order to cover adequately all aspects of interdisciplinary research. The editorial strategy of the Art Studies Quarterly is to offer issues devoted to one thematic circle, which is a prerequisite for addressing the queries on one topic panel with the tools and methodologies from different areas of knowledge. That is why priority is given to texts containing new discoveries and unpublished data.
