Journal of Management and Business Administration. Central Europe (JMBA.CE, to 2015 published as "Management and Business Administration. Central Europe") is a scientific quarterly pertaining to management in public and private sector institutions which publishes research results and theoretical analyses and reviews.

Our goal is to facilitate a better understanding of the essence of management and research cooperation within the academic community and thus to have a positive influence on the world of management sciences.

JMBA.CE publishes articles related to the following fields: human resource management, theory of organization, strategic management, corporate order, managerial economy, accounting and finance. The articles may be theoretical or empirical in nature and may be based in a variety of disciplines, such as economy, psychology, sociology and law.

JMBA.CE  appears on the list of Polish and foreign scientific journals led by the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the parametric evaluation of the scientific units with the allocated number of points 13.

Open Innovation Ecosystem and Open Innovation Collaboration from the Perspective of the Polish High-Tech and Knowledge-Intensive Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

This monograph shares the latest empirical insights and knowledge about attitudes towards open innovations,as well as drivers and barriers of open innovation collaboration from the perspective of the Polishand knowledge-intensive SMEs sector. The introduction is followed by a presentation of the theoreticaland conceptual framework of the open innovation paradigm, open innovation ecosystem and its major dimensions.The next section focuses on the specific features of high-tech and knowledge-intensive SMEsand their innovative collaboration with key stakeholders (with firms, academia, public authorities, endusers etc.) as well as the problem of knowledge sharing. Section three presents the dynamics, structureand development of the selected R&D and knowledge-intensive industries in Poland. It introduces thespecifics of four selected sectors: biotechnological and pharmaceutical sectors, electronics and computerindustries, the chemical industry, as well as the media, publishing and printing industries, from the globalperspective as well as that of the Polish market perspectives. Finally, chapter four presents the resultsof the research survey conducted on the Polish market. It provides insights on major drivers and barriersof open innovation in a high and medium-high tech SMEs, as well as the description of attitudes, behavioursand experiences observed in this group of entrepreneurs. The monograph ends with conclusionsand policy implications.
