Journal of Media Research - Revista de Studii Media

Frequency: irregular and other / Country: Romania

The Journal of Media Research is a tri-annual scientific research journal focusing on the field of media and communication. The Journal of Media Research is a peer review academic publication for interdisciplinary media and communication research. We aim at publishing research papers focusing on media and communication using the methodologies of social sciences. We encourage the publication of quantitative and qualitative research. We have also a section that includes book reviews and scientific event presentations. Being located in Romania, we focus on publishing papers presenting relevant results of and theoretical developments of media and communication research in Central and Eastern Europe. The field of communication sciences is a relatively new field in Romania, continuously gaining importance within the last 15 years. The specificity of regional media development will be presented in the papers we intend to publish. Our publication also targets comparative studies between media and communication developments at local and/or global scale. Our editorial board includes scientists from both Eastern and Western Europe. Our focus is not only the so-called classical media like newspapers, radio or television but also on the internet and the new media, from the relationship between classical newspapers and online publications to the rise of online social networking. Papers on the development of advertising and public relations in Central and Eastern Europe, comparisons between the dynamics of advertising and public relations in Eastern and Western Europe and other parts of the world are also welcomed.

Journal of Historical Anthropology

Journal of Historical Anthropology

Caiete de Antropologie Istorică

Frequency: 2 issues / Country: Romania

First and foremost, this scientific journal aims at stimulating the multidisciplinary dialogue and at promoting the most up-to-date paradigms of knowledge and innovative research methodologies by means of high-quality scientific papers. The articles included in the thematic issues of this journal address a wide range of topics such as: humankind and death, family life and kinship, the history of the human body, the alimentation, the habitat, fashion and clothing, historical ecology (epidemics, calamities of nature), celebrations and leisure. All these subjects are discussed from the viewpoint of historical anthropology, the history of collective mentalities and social imaginary. Such approaches constitute a statement in favour of a historical analysis that would provide a more adequate answer to the epistemological requirements of the current times.

During its eighteen years of existence, the quality standards of the journal have evolved both in terms of form and of content. The latter has become more diversified in the last years due to the valuable articles written by the most reputable Romanian authors in the field and by a growing number of prestigious foreign collaborators, some of whom are members of the editorial board. Last but not least, the thematic scope of the journal has considerably widened lately through the inclusion of some of the most thought-provoking issues debated at present in historiography worldwide. The journal encourages scientific research in an interface discipline, thus promoting interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches, as well as international collaboration in view of a positive informational exchange. In Romania, the journal is distributed to all the main universities and central libraries, particularly to academic or specialised ones. The journal is also distributed worldwide by means of the international exchange service that sends it to France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Germany and the USA.
