1) Новая русистика (The New Russian Studies) is an international journal based on the traditions of European conceptions of language and literature synthetizing both the morphological, structural and various poststructuralist communicative receptionist and anthropological approaches. 2) The journal keeps a close connection between philological and other humanities and social sciences in the framework of philological-area studies. 3) The journal aims at the cultivation of discussion and disputes on various methodological problems of contemporary linguistics and literary criticism in general and Russian studies in particular. 4) It tries to discover new research horizons analyzing the crucial topics of Russian studies in its widest sense, also in the form of special issues. 5) The journal is open to the specialists in Russian studies of different methodological orientation trying to preserve the genuine philological kernel of Russian area research aiming at the synthesis of philologies and social sciences. 6) It supports international cooperation, above all, of Central-European institutes dealing with Russian studies co-organizing international symposiums, seminars, workshops, and conferences. 7) The journal aims at the innovation of single linguistic and literary disciplines based on the Czech tradition of contrastive linguistics and comparative literary studies. 8) Новая русистика (The New Russian Studies) also focuses on the methods of teaching Russian language and literature. 9) The journal represents neither the generational, nor the group or one-sidedly oriented periodical; on the contrary it is widely open always prepared to synthetize the efforts of philologists of all generations and methodological bearings aiming at preserving the kontinuity of the rreserarch.and its existing results. 10) The journal’s goal is to strengthen the social position of Russian/Slavonic area studies, its intellectual and cultural influence analyzing all the recent and relevant phenomena including those going beyond the borders of traditional philology. The international editorial board consists of the specialists from the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Byelorusia and Serbia. Further information is given in: I.
