Publication of scientific works Philology („Filologija”) has been published at Šiauliai University since 1993. Until 1996, the title of the publication was Philology and Methodology („Filologija ir metodika”). Starting from 1998, scientific focus of the publication was more strictly defined as text linguistics and ethnolinguistics. Philology („Filologija”) also publishes articles of a literary field dealing with the mentioned problems. Majority of articles reflect results of concrete philological studies. The publication includes works of philologists from Šiauliai University as well as articles of scholars from other Lithuanian and foreign institutions of science and education. Articles are printed in the Lithuanian, Russian, English, German, French and Latvian languages. Single articles and the whole publication are reviewed.

Jaunųjų mokslininkų darbai

The journal “Jaunujų mokslininkų darbai” has been published since 2003. It is designed for publishing papers on research projects carried out by junior academic staff (age limit 35): junior researchers, PhDs, university teachers, PhD students, students in a Master’s degree programs. The journal has 3 issues per year – in June, October and December. 2 issues include papers on social sciences and humanities, 1 – on other sciences. The journal “Jaunujų mokslininkų darbai” aims at fostering the activities of junior researchers and establishing favourable conditions to advance and disseminate scientific ideas based on applied research, research notes, experiments and logical interpretation of the latest statistical data. The journal welcomes papers, in which the analysis of the latest scientific literature and the description of experiments carried out on the account of junior researchers or under the supervision of senior academic staff are provided and in this way an opportunity to participate in discussions on the issues related to research work and in the exchange of opinions on the relevance of the research works of the academic community to its immediate environment, region and state is given. The editorial board of significant researchers and scholars unreservedly cooperate with and motivate junior academic staff in their research and creative activities providing suggestions and assistance in the submission of papers and the development of systemic approach towards the issues of empirical research. The editorial objective is to publish papers comparable in their quality, topicality, novelty and originality to those published in world-famous scholarly journals.

Kūrybos erdvės

The refereed semi-annual journal “Kūrybos erdvės” was initiated by the Art Research Centre (director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rytis Urniežius) with the assistance of the Faculty of Arts of Šiauliai University, Lithuania. A significant support was extended by the Rector’s office of the University. It publishes original articles on arts research, musicology, art criticism, other fields of art, also of arts education. One of the main goals of the journal is to publish works by scientists and art educators from Šiauliai town and Šiauliai region as well as from the other parts of Lithuania in collaboration with various educational and research institutions and individual scientists abroad. The articles published in the “Kūrybos erdvės” should conform to the requirements for the scientific publication. Prominent, well-known scientists as well as young and promising researchers gave their councent to be included into the editorial board of the journal. Šiauliai University is represented by Editor-in-Chief, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rytis Urniežius, Prof. Dr. Habil. Vytenis Rimkus, a famous art researcher and author of the numerous books and articles on Lithuanian folk art, Prof. Dr. Habil. Eduardas Balčytis, a famous music educator, the founder of the Lithuanian music education system and author of music text-books, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diana Strakšienė, the Head of the Department of Music Theory and Pedagogy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vytautas Žalys, the Head of the Department of Audiovisual Art. Members from other Lithuanian institutions are: Academician of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Rector of Vilnius Pedagogical University Prof. Dr. Habil. Algirdas Gaižutis, Rector of Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Prof. Dr. Juozas Antanavičius, two professors from Klaipėda University – Prof. Dr. Danutė Petrauskaitė and Prof. Dr. Rimantas Sliužinskas. Three editorial board members are from the USA: Prof. Dr. Milda B. Richardson (fine arts), Prof. Dr. James Saker (music), and Prof. Dr. Emilija Sakadolskienė, a prominent specialist in music education of Lithuanian exodus. Prof. Dr. Habil. Jerzy Zywicki is from Lublin M. Curie-Skłodowska University in Poland and Prof. Dr. Habil.Eduards Mekšs is from Daugavpils University in Latvia.
