“Economic Thought” is the only theoretical journal in the field of economics in Bulgaria. It has been issued since 1956. Since 1984 a special issue in English is also published with articles selected from annual Journal edition in Bulgarian mainly on the problems of Bulgarian economy and Bulgarian authors as well. Journal “Economic Thought” publishes articles, surveys, reviews, informations, transitions revealing crucial problems of the economic theory and practice, the methods and instruments of analysis, modeling and econometrics, as well as modern interdisciplinary approaches of philosophy, sociology, etc. The main part of the published material reflects the interpretation of the following topics: • theory and problems of the transition to market economy; • economic and social policy; • financial and banking system; • sectoral investigations; • economic effects of corruption and unofficial economy. • international economic cooperation and integration in the world structures, economic problems of globalization and integration to EU (incorporation in EU). The Journal reflects also different points of view of foreign scholars on the character and course of the ongoing changes in the economies of the ex-socialist countries as well as in developed and developing countries. The Journal informs for crucial scientific events at national and international level – conferences, symposia, seminars, round table, and reviews of recently published books of Bulgarian and foreign authors.
