‘Многоликата наука – Disciplina Variabilis’ is an annual conference organized by the Department of Culture, Heritage and Tourism at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in Sofia, Bulgaria and aimed exclusively at doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and young scholars. The forum strives at stimulating scientific and scholarly networking between doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in Bulgaria and abroad (with focus on Eastern and Southeastern Europe but not exclusively); enriching the scientific and scholarly understanding of cultural heritage, and enhancing the motivation of young researchers for further professional development in fields and activities related to cultural heritage and cultural tourism. The participants have the opportunity to present their theoretical or applied research on various aspects of the identification, documentation, protection, preservation, presentation and transmission of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in all its variety. Submitted papers are subject to a double-blind review process.

The “Harmony in Diversity” include the papers presented at the Conference of the same name, held in Sofia. Since 2015, the volumes are published annually by the “Za bukvite – O pismeneh” Academic Publisher.

Each volume includes articles dedicated to human rights and their protection; to cultural, ethnic and religious pluralism, to the value of cultural differences based on origin, gender, age, race, religion, ethnicity, physical or mental health, identities, etc., and to cultural, ethnic and religious dialogue. The researches cover the field of humanities and social sciences, law and human rights. The Editorial board policy encourages interdisciplinary articles, theoretically or practically oriented, sharing experience and best practices. Each article is double peer-reviewed and is presented personally by its authors to at the annual conference.

The “Harmony in Diversity” follow international standards for scholarly publications. All articles are provided with bilingual abstracts and references. It is included in the National Reference List by the National Centre for Information and Documentation for Bulgarian scientific peer-reviewed publications under No. 5233 and is registered by the National ISBN Agency with eISSN 3033-1315.
