Popular science journal dedicated to language culture and terminology and an organ of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the language department of Matica slovenská. It presents research findings of the literary Slovak language in its wide meaning and research findings in language culture. It also aims at cultivation of speech, examines the ways of following language norm and codification in public speeches, appropriateness and adequacy of language means use in all fields of work and public life. It also focuses on professional terminology, its standardization and putting to practice, as well as fiction from the viewpoint of language use and language creativity of its writers and translators.
