Proceedings of the Centre for Economic History Research
Известия на Центъра за стопанско-исторически изследвания
Proceedings of the Centre for Economic History Research is an official edition of the Centre for Economic History Research (CEHR) that was founded in 2015 in Sofia (Bulgaria). The journal features papers on a wide range of topics related to the fields of economic history and the history of economic thought. Although no specific geographical or chronological limits are set, most of the published materials naturally focus on the economic history of the Bulgarian lands and the Balkans from Antiquity to Modernity and the 20th century, but also include theoretical approaches to economic history in general.
The editorial board, which includes members from Bulgaria, France, Turkey, and Greece, aims at bolstering international dialogue and research in the field, and views the Proceedings of CEHR as a fitting venue for this purpose. Accordingly, the journal offers different perspectives on some traditionally contested themes such as the economic background of Ottoman rule in the Balkans and the establishment of national states and economies in the region. The Proceedings appear annually within a specific thematic framework that warrants the coherence of each issue. Most articles are published in Bulgarian and accompanied by abstracts in English but papers in English, French, German, and Russian are also accepted for publication.
