"Media Studies" is a quarterly journal of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, University of Warsaw. It was founded in 2000 at the Institute of Journalism at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences, University of Warsaw. By December 2017 71 issues of “Media Studies” were published.

The journal is addressed to researchers and students in media and communication studies. The thematic profile of "Media Studies" includes, above all, identity of media sciences, new media, ethics and public relations, media law, media history, rhetoric, media in Poland – the press, radio and television, comparative media systems. Editorial Board is composed by political scientists, media experts, historians, linguists, literary critics from Poland and abroad.

Scientific texts are published in both in print and on the website of the quarterly http://studiamedioznawcze.pl/spis.php meeting the requirements of open access and a free license granted to the publisher. The journal welcomes contributions in Polish language, as well as English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. On the website of "Media Studies” yearbooks are published in .pdf format (from Volume 1 (32) 2008). The website is also filled with tables of contents in the Polish and English; selected contributions from Poland are also translated into English. In addition to this, a description of the reviewing procedure and style and manuscript guidelines are available online. Since the publication of Volume 2 (56) 2014, the primary version of the journal is the electronic one.
