Short Description

The Archive for Medieval Philosophy and Culture / Archiv für mittelalterliche Philosophie und Kultur is founded in 1994 by Tzotcho Boiadjiev and Georgi Kapriev with the idea to offer an integration centre for all researchers in the field of medieval thought (with an accent on philosophy). It represents a forum, where the issues of the research field could be freely discussed and expressed in their specialized language and strict norms. The second aim of the Archiv is to introduce translations of shorter medieval tractates and texts of Latin and Byzantine authors. In this respect is built up an international editorial board with representatives of various centers for medieval studies, which allows more intensive work between medievalists not only within the South-Eastern European region, but all over Europe. Since scroll three (1996) Andreas Speer joined the chief editors. Since December 2000 is the Archiv the official organ of the Institute for Medieval Philosophy and Culture with director Tzotcho Boiadjiev. The annual includes texts in various European languages, but mostly in Bulgarian and German. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Editors in Chief ----------------------------------- Tzotcho Boiadjiev (Sofia), Georgi Kapriev (Sofia) and Andreas Speer (Köln) Editorial board ------------------------------------ John Demetracopoulos (Patras) Wouter Goris (Amsterdam/ Köln) Andrei Plesu (Bukarest) Pasquale Porro (Bari) Stefan Sanjakoski (Struga) Bogoljub Šijaković (Beograd/ Nikšić) Carlos Steel (Leuven)
