Short Description
The Faculty of Economics, University of Tuzla, organises the International Scientific Conference “Economy of Integration” (ICEI) every two years. The conference is a scientific platform devoted to the economic, social, technological and developmental challenges facing the countries of South-East Europe. Since the first conference in 2009 it has grown into a regionally recognised academic forum, bringing together researchers, university teachers, practitioners, representatives of institutions, policy makers and students concerned with economic development, the business environment and competitiveness in a European and global context.
Previous editions have addressed management in times of crisis, the prospects for integration of South-East European countries, the role of knowledge in overcoming recession, the place of economic thought in contemporary society, emigration and competitiveness, the economic response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and sustainable economy and tourism on the path towards European Union accession.
The ninth conference, ICEI 2025, was held in Tuzla on 4 and 5 December 2025 under the title “Regenerative and Digital Economy: South-East Europe on the Path to Sustainable Competitiveness”. The theme links the regenerative economy, founded on the renewal of resources, resilience and responsible governance, with the digital economy and its effects on business, public administration, education and research.
All papers published in the Conference Proceedings are subject to double-blind peer review. The proceedings are published in English and are freely available in Open Access.
