Short Description
Art Studies is an academic journal published by the Centre for Art Studies at the Albanian Academy of Sciences. Its first issue came out in the year 1995. Art Studies focuses on matters pertaining to the development and histories of modern and contemporary art in Albania and related contexts, favouring interdisciplinary approaches towards artistic and cultural phenomena more generally. Art Studies is published annually and since 2020 it appears both in print as well as online (open-access). Also, since 2020, each issue of the journal has a thematic axis, which the authors must adhere to in their writings. The types of articles published in Art Studies include, among others, research articles, review articles, project reports, and interviews. Art Studies accepts manuscripts in two languages, Albanian and English. The editor-in-chief of Art Studies is Dr. Jonida Gashi.
