Short Description
Vox Patrum is intended to present scientific articles and researches of Polish and international scholars about the broadly understood Christian antiquity, especially the writings of the Fathers of the Church (I-VIII century) and their teaching, as well as the Byzantine era, and the reception of early Christian thought in later centuries and to promote the Polish studies on the Christian antiquity. It also documents the patristic life in Poland and all over the world by publishing the reviews of new published books, bibliographies of the early Christianity and reports from patristic conferences and symposia. The thematic scope of the journal is related to the presented purpose of the journal and has an interdisciplinary dimension with a focus on theology, history, literary studies, art history, philosophy in the context of early Christianity and the Byzantine period.
The journal plays an essential role in stimulating the patristic studies and scholarly discussion in our region. Vox Patrum also welcomes international scholars who want to contribute to it. The international board of scholars and above all the articles and reviews written in foreign languages are aimed at popularizing the Polish patristic publications abroad and to keep it in contact with the international research.
The aim of Vox Patrum is to keep the highest scientific standards of the submitted papers which are then subjected to a thorough and critical review process. The journal promotes high ethical standards proposed by the COPE, originality of scholarly works, the rigorous employment of patristic methodologies, and their diversity. Vision, action, innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement, are the core values we share and we believe in. Vox Patrum edited by the oldest, biggest, and most respected Section of the Church History and Patrology in Poland wants to serve as a patristic platform fostering scholarly collaboration and exchange in our region, in a fruitful dialog with international researchers of Christian antiquity and Byzantium.
