Summary/Abstract: Despite the formal commitment to the principles of equality, gender inequality in Montenegro remains deeply rooted - not only in laws and institutions, but also in everyday practices, social norms and expectations. In every pore of society – from households and schools to courts and media, patterns of discrimination and gender stereotypes shape the experiences of women and girls, often exposing them to multiple forms of violence, marginalization and institutional invisibility. In such a social context, the need for effective, systematic and coordinated public policies in terms of improving the position of women becomes unquestionable.
