Summary/Abstract: In Focus - Armed Violence Monitors provide information on the specific types of firearm incidents and the related topics to illustrate the magnitude of firearms' adverse impact on civilians. This issue draws attention to firearm-related suicides in South East Europe (SEE) from 1 January to 31 December 2020. Suicide, as a serious global phenomenon, affects individuals of all nations, communities, cultures and genders. The use of firearms and explosives in attempting suicide carries a high likelihood of fatal outcomes. In this report, firearmrelated suicides refer to acts or instances in which individuals took their own life voluntarily and intentionally using (FAE). The report also covers attempted suicides and suicides that took place in a murder-suicide pattern.
