Summary/Abstract: Work with focus groups, as well as online surveys, resulted in the mapping of actors for smart specialization in the region of Šumadija and Western Serbia. 111 organizations and 40 individuals, experts on the topic of regional development, were mapped. The structure of respondents indicates a greater presence and interest of respondents from the academic sector. The structure of respondents in the online testing was as follows: 59 respondents from the academic sector, 14 respondents from the civil society sector, 12 respondents from the business sector and 21 respondents from local self-government units (state sector). The planned number of respondents was 120. The response rate was 92.5%. Answers were forwarded by 111 respondents. The sectors of civil society, economy and the state record low responsiveness.
