Summary/Abstract: The Iranian bombing of Israel on October 1, 2024, with about 180 missiles, including many ballistic missiles, was practically a direct indicator of the transition to a direct confrontation between the two regional powers of Iran and Israel, instead of continuing to wage war in a "proxy way", as was the case since October 7, 2023 through pro-Iranian militias, especially the Palestinian movement Hamas, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Houthi movement in Yemen. According to Iran's Revolutionary Guard, the attack followed the Israeli killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in the middle of Tehran on July 31, 2024, and Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on September 27, 2024.
