Summary/Abstract: The second round of presidential elections and regular parliamentary elections will be held in the Republic of North Macedonia on May 8, 2024. In the elections, according to the proportional system, 1,8 Mio voters will have the right to vote for the Macedonian Parliament (Sobranie), which has 120 representatives. The leading parties in the upcoming elections are: SDSM and the coalition "For the European Future" (the ruling social democratic party), the coalition around VMRO-DPMNE (the opposition conservative nationalist party), the coalition "European Front" - Democratic Union for Integration (DUI - the ruling party of ethnic Albanians) and the coalition "Vrijedi-VLEN" - the opposition coalition of ethnic Albanian parties). Minority political parties such as Turks, Roma, Bosniaks, Serbs and others will traditionally be represented in the Macedonian parliament.
