Summary/Abstract: According to the Labor Force Survey from April 2012, the unemployment rate at the level of the whole of Serbia is 25.45%. These data are alarming enough, but the fact that out of 543,248 active young people (from 15 to 29), 234,627 are unemployed, that is, the unemployment rate among this specific population is an incredible 43.18% at the national level, is even more surprising. According to the same source, the structure of employed persons by sector of activity is as follows: agriculture, forestry and fishing - 22.2%, processing industry - 15.1%, wholesale and retail trade, motor vehicle repair - 12.6%, health and social protection - 8.1%. As for the structure of employed persons by occupation, it is as follows: qualified workers in agriculture and fishing - 21.5%, professional associates and technicians - 13.8%, service workers and traders - 13.0%, artisans and related workers - 12.5%.
