Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the publication is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the victims offirearm incidents in the Western Balkans in 2022, along with insights regarding victims of massshootings in the region — one in 2022 and two in 2023. Through methodical examination of thecontext of firearm misuse, the types of weapons used, and the resulting outcomes, as well as thedemographic characteristics of the victims, this Monitor aims to identify key patterns and trendsregarding the impact of firearm-related violence. The findings of the Monitor are designed toprovide a strong foundation for understanding the scope and scale of firearm incidents, thusaiding in formulating effective strategies to reduce firearm-related violence and improve publicsafety in the region. Moreover, the Monitor aims to raise awareness of the prevalence and impactof firearm incidents.
