Summary/Abstract: The recent start of negotiations on Serbia's accession to the European Union represents an excellent moment for a study that concerns one of the most important issues in that process, which is the harmonization of Serbian legislation in the area of the EU Single Market. Given that the gradual harmonization of the legal system with the acquis communautaire of the European Union became a formal obligation of Serbia from the moment it signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement, the study aims to provide an assessment of Serbia's progress in the development of the institutional and legislative framework in accordance with the acquis of the EU and requirements in the area of free movement of goods, especially focusing on the harmonization of the horizontal legal framework.
