Summary/Abstract: The past spring and summer on the European continent were uniquely marked by two topics: the "Greek question" - the referendum and conditions for staying in the eurozone; as well as the now chronic exodus of refugees from the Middle East and Africa to European countries. While the first issue is the responsibility of the so-called "troika", which consists of the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the issues of migration and asylum policy are in the shared competence of the member states and the European Parliament - and therefore, one of the priority subjects of the current Luxembourg presidency of the EU Council.
