Summary/Abstract: Republic of Armenia has reformed the public administration system during last two decades, with the aim of making it more consistent with the principles of democracy and free market relations. This “closer look” analysis, based on input from ECEAP local programme experts from civil society in Armenia, gives overview of administrative reform in Armenia, with a special focus on local self-government reforms and fight against corruption. Several improvements have been made in recent years, however, the challenges remain in establishing comprehensive public administration reform strategy, in the fight against corruption and overcoming gender imbalance.
