Summary/Abstract: Consumer law in Serbia, codified by the Law on Consumer Protection, is entirely the result of the process of legal harmonization with relevant EU regulations in this area and negotiating chapter 28. The current Law dates from 2014 and was positively assessed in the screening process for negotiating chapter 28 - Consumer and Health Protection, however, a number of open issues related to its implementation arise. It is precisely the issues of lack of capacity for the implementation of consumer law in practice that are continuously emphasized in the annual progress reports of the European Commission, including the latest one for 2020.
