Summary/Abstract: The arrival of a new administration in Washington will represent another, after Brexit, additional challenge for the EU. The first negative statements of the new American president regarding European integration and NATO seem to call into question decades of constant American policy and strategy in Europe. In addition, various signals from the new administration point to disagreements between the so-called "ideologists" and "real politicians". Various scenarios are possible, but in principle it can be expected that the new president will prioritize a pragmatic "reset" on the new basis of US trade and economic relations with EU countries.
