Summary/Abstract: This text examines the question why the subject of Serbia's accession to the European Union is on the sidelines of the pre-election campaign. The issue is significant because only five years ago, the topic of Serbia's accession to the European Union, i.e. the choice of an alternative path, had a decisive influence on the voters. The issue of continuing or stopping European integration completely polarized the Serbian political scene in 2008.
