Summary/Abstract: Diametrically different statements on the crisis in Ukraine, the security situation, human rights policy, and entry into the eurozone make the Czech Republic an untrustworthy and unreliable player. Closer coordination, especially within the ČSSD, is desirable. However, it is realistic to expect too much cooperation from the president and the minister of finance. It is therefore necessary that at least the ministers from the party with the strongest influence on foreign policy speak with one voice. The prime minister should abandon conservative positions on key issues and clearly support his foreign minister.
