Summary/Abstract: The number of presidency seats obtained by a certain state in EU-Parliament’s committees is one criteria ofinfluence, However, it is important to highlight which committees are involved. Their work and thus their powers vary greatly and their ability to influence the course of integration is very diverse. In the European Parliament, there are committees that are more advisory, as well as committees that are very important in terms of integration, which typically deal with policies related to the internal market (e.g. ITRE or IMCO) and the common currency (ECON). The degree of "importance" of a particular committee is quite complicated to measure, as its importance can change with time, the political situation and political preferences. However, the size of the committee can be considered an indicator of the prestige of the committee, and thus its importance. The committees of the European Parliament differ considerably in the number of their members.
