Summary/Abstract: In the coming year, Central Europe will face several important internal, European and external tests: Russia continues its aggressive policy towards Ukraine. Europe is struggling with a migration crisis. In some Western Balkan countries, fragile political stability is being shaken. Important parliamentary elections will be held in Poland and Slovakia. Detailed discussions will begin on the European Commission's legislative initiatives on the digital internal market and the energy union, which are particularly important for the V4. The Five Presidents' Report outlined further contours of the deepening of the eurozone. The Visegrad Battle Group of the European Union (V4 EU BG) will begin operating and the V4 countries will seek a common position before the NATO summit in Warsaw. The task of the CZ V4 PRES will be to find a common Central European response to these challenges.
