Summary/Abstract: This text has two primary objectives. First to highlight the current challenges to the institutional structure of the EU, and, secondly, to find a suitable position for the Czech Republic on this issue and to identify the main obstacles to implementing the chosen strategy. For the purposes of this text, the primary objectives of Czech European policy are regarded as preparation for entry to the eurozone and “convergence with the European integration core”, which are also postulates on which the government agreed in the coalition agreement and its policy statement.
