Summary/Abstract: According to the International Monetary Fund, Mexico is the 12th largest economy in the world. However, it represents the 46th trading partner for the Czech Republic. This significant difference means a great potential for development, which is also confirmed by the new economic territorial priorities of the Czech Republic in Latin America. The Czech Republic's membership in the European Union can contribute to improving relations. However, this fact also implies a commitment for the Czech Republic to unify its policy towards Mexico with the European one as quickly as possible. One of the activities is the need to follow Western European companies in creating projects with a social dimension. It is important for the Czech Republic to clearly define the tasks of trade policy together with the implementers. In the European space without barriers, new opportunities for large consortia are emerging, where it is necessary to fully support the efforts of Czech companies to get involved. In the cultural and academic field, it is necessary to continue to deepen the already very lively relations and to assist the newly emerging efforts to connect Czech and Mexican culture.
